Hello Ron,
I am very excited about your great page and have enjoyed it already a lot. At the same time I want to introduce myself shortly:
My name is Steffen and I'm another redwood enthusiastic and already registered in the german sequoia project forum , which you have also mentioned on your link list. ( please note the additional new url since august:
www.mbreg.de )
The core members of our seqoia project are looking for some new and/or old genetics to broaden the basis and variety of our giant redwood breedings. Almost all of us are breeding their own seedling and trying to plant out as much specimens as possible.
For the future in our opinion it makes sense to use as many different genetics as we can for our plantings. Some of us have already planted out some acres with redwoods. If we could add some more varieties from your seed it surely would give some further suppport to build an thriving and robust population.
We would be very happy if you could spare out some cones and/or seeds for us. We all will surely take care for the seeds and as we all know about the germination terms we do not need complete seed kits, just the cones or seeds if they are stored under good conditions.
As I do not know where you get your supply from - I assume either local trees or you also could be supplied from the U.S. - we would appreciate if you could tell us something about the origin of the seeds you are using and selling. If you procure your seeds from the US, do you know from which grove?
In return we surely will be able to provide you with seeds and cones from european seqioadendrons and also with some of a few north american groves (Mountain Home and others)
I'm looking forward to your answer.
Yours sincerely and best "redwood" regards
Steffen
